Bronwyn Bickle

GradDipCouns, BPsychSciSoc

I was drawn to counselling as a career path after working in retail for many years and finding that customers would often open up to me and reveal quite personal stories of their lives. Over the last 9 years I have worked with single parents, teens in a school setting, and facilitated support groups for individuals living with chronic illness.

Counselling has not only offered me the opportunity to understand people in a deep and profound way, but to support people in working through trauma, provide a safe space for them to discuss difficult topics, and to work towards becoming their most authentic selves.

My interests within counselling include trauma, identity, and relationship diversity. My approach is grounded in the belief that mental health is profoundly shaped by a multitude of factors - societal expectations and structures, family influences, physical well-being, external stressors, and more. While some of these factors are within our control, many are not, which can understandably lead to anxiety, distress, and feelings of helplessness.
