Chronic Illness
Chronic and Invisible Illness Counselling
You may have been living with chronic illness for years, or perhaps you have been newly diagnosed. Chronic illness can, and does, impact all areas of your life. From sleep, to mood, relationships, social interactions, hobbies, physical health, household chores, digestive health, energy levels, mental health, financial stress and mental functioning, just to name a few.
I have over 30 years lived experience with chronic illness, so rest assured I know all about endless Dr appointments, specialists, financial strain, finding the right medications, fatigue, societal pressures and more. I've worked with many clients also living with chronic illness, including ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease, co-morbid disorders, mystery illnesses yet to be diagnosed, as well as partners and family members of individuals living with illness.
Common issues raised by clients living with chronic illness include medical trauma, anxiety, social isolation, financial pressures, the diagnostic process, family and friend's expectations, and relationship issues.
